BRING ON THE SUNSHINE
Recently we have seen a bit of sun peeking through despite still being quite chilly at times; therefore I feel that I ought to grab a few products to welcome the summer sunshine and get into the spirit. These products I always go for to help achieve that effortless glowy sunkissed skin and that bright pop of colour to the lips.
BOURJOIS CC CREAM
Apart from mineral foundation which is my most grabbed product during the summer, I like using this CC cream at times to give me that extra dewy finish and giving me that extra bit of SPF 15 on top of my usual skincare. This is a light to medium coverage and feels so lightweight on the skin which makes it ideal for summer time where we tend to perspire a little bit more. A full review can be found here if you are interested.
BENEFIT CHA CHA TINT
For that healthy sunkissed look, I like the use this to give me that flushed from within look. This lightweight watery formula gives the most natural finish and I find that used in conjuction with a cream highlight gives the perfect radiance for the summer. However, with this product you have to work quite quickly as it does dry very easily because of its formulation - I recommend using your fingers to dab on the product rather than applying it straight from the brush. You can also use this as a stain on the lips which is an extra bonus and one of my personal faves to wear during the summer as its so long lasting and waterproof.
BURBERRY FRESH GLOW NO.1
I love the versatility of this product as I find that there are multiple uses of it. Firstly, if my skin is looking a bit dull, I mix a bit of this with my foundation to provide me with a bit of extra glow. I also use this as a highlighter when I have applied my base. There is subtle shimmer in this which is great because it doesn't make your make up look too heavy or over the top. Just enough to add a hint of glimmer on your skin for that healthy glow.
MARC JACOBS DAISY EAU SO FRESH
Perfect daytime scent for the summer and I'm sure those of you who have smelt this will agree with me that this is this scent is made for the summer months. Refreshing and delicate, I find that this long lasting perfume can be worn effortlessly and great for all occasions. This is a little bit different from the original Daisy which I am also a big fan of but I find that this one is a little bit more gentle and powdery as opposed to than floral.
REVLON MOISTURE STAIN - 010 LA EXCLUSIVE
Not really a big fan of dark or matte lip colours as the cold seasons are all in the past. I like to lean towards the easy to wear balmy - glossy type lip products. Revlon has impressed me when they first launched these moisture stain and I have been loving them. So easy to apply and comfortable to wear therefore I always grab this to finish off my look during the summer. The way that it doesn't overly stain my lips does it for me as it only stains a little bit because of the selection of colours own. Definitly moisturising on the lips which is great because it prevents lips from being dry and flakey. Full review and a couple of swatches can be found here if you are interested.
(I was lucky enough to visit Rome for several days with my boyfriend so upcoming post soon)

VALENTINES DAY MAKEUP
A day time natural makeup look with a pop of colour to represent the essence of valentines. I think this is a great option for a first date as it is clean and natural keeping the skin looking fresh looking and sweet.
FACE
I used a silicone based primer [Maybelline baby skin instant pore eraser] to cover my pores and creating a perfect canvas for my foundation to go on. For foundation, I went for the Rimmel lasting finish as it makes my skin look flawless and adds a hint of randiance without compromising the longevity of it. To add some more definition to the skin, I used a cream based product [NARS multiple in Altai] to contour my face along with [The body Shop honey bronzer] to set the contour colour. To blend out and set all the products, I used [MAC mineralise finish in natural] to finish off.
EYES
I do not actually own any pink or purple eyeshadows in my collection, therefore I ended up using an Urban decay palette which had a pink and purple shade. I used my Shu Uemura Eyelash curlers to curl my lashes and applied my [Lancome hypnose doll eyes waterproof mascara]
LIPS
Back to using my forgotten much loved [Revlon lip butter in Sweet tart] as it is very moisturising and the pink shade is very sweet looking and perfect for valentines day.
What makeup look did you wear for valentines day?

REVLON COLORSTAY MOISTURE STAIN || REVIEW
I was awaiting the launch of these from Revlon eversince seeing some blog posts and youtube videos on them. The packaging of these are just so lovely and I feel that the quality of the product deserves a thumbs up overall too. Although I am pretty aware of the fact that there are plenty of other brands highend or drugstore that do similar items to this, I remained loyal to my beloved Revlon brand lip product as I was anticipating the release of these.
Firstly, the packaging is lightweight and petite in size which makes it ideal to store inside makeup bags for travelling on the go. The colour range is amazing and it was so hard for me to decide which ones to pick. I opted for 010 LA exclusive and 050 London posh because they were the more user friendly colours compared to the much more vibrant colours. These have a doe foot applicator which makes it very comfortable and easy to apply due to the tapered shape of it. On application, it does go on quite streaky and patchy at first but it manages to even out very easily when you blend it out. This may be due to its highly pigmented nature. It leaves a lovely glossy finish whilst still moisturising your lips which is a big bonus for me as I always have a tendancy to have dry chapped lips. This product didnt emphasise of my dry patches nor make them peel like crazy like some lipglosses do.
For the price of these, the non-sticky formula makes it effortless to wear and perfect for days where you do not want to mess around with lipsticks and liners. It does leave a stain on the lips which is great for long days out where reapplying lipstick is a hassle to do so. I think I will be purchasing more of the different shades, they are just too good to miss out on and I urge all makeup junkies to go out and try these when you can. Such a steal for the price and I much prefer these over some other moisturising lipsticks.

REVLON COLORBURST: MATTE BALMS
I love the whole chubby stick / lip crayon craze therefore I just couldn't resist these new matte balms from Revlon. Revlon has the best selection of lip products in terms of the range of formulations and colours - I am a huge fan of their lip butters which i have bought a fair few so far. Anyway, there were so many matte colours to choose from and i was spoilt for choice but i ended up settling for these 2 because they are just so pretty and i know i would wear them more often than the other colours available in the range.
205 elusive is a nice cool toned pink which i think gives a really sweet, innocent look and i'm sure that it will be easy to wear on an everyday basis with any outfit. 240 Striking is a nice cherry red colour which can add drama and intensity to an everyday make-up look and i find that it also compliment my skin-tone really well making it appear much more brighter and healthy. The formulation of these does not feel as matte as they look. They are quite velvety and creamy in consistency and dries to a powdery finish which i find feels kind of strange and i haven't experienced a lip product like this. The matte finish looks and feels lovely on the lips although your lips would have to be nicely moisturized and exfoliated prior to application or else it does cling onto the dry patches which isn't a great look at all.
Another flaw i find with this product is that it is quite difficult to get a precise application especially with the darker colour. The more balmy consistency balm sticks are much more easier to get a even finish because of their glossiness, but with a matte-velvet consistency, you really should have a nice clean edge or else it just looks messy. To combat this, i ended up using a lip brush to apply this on the lips which i think defeats the purpose of having it in a stick form. All in all, I do think the formulation of these lipsticks are very unique and the finish it gives is lovely too, but i find that it is quite a hassle to get a good even application and the colour doesn't last as long as i would like it to.

Have a great day Girlies :)

- REVLON LASH POTION BY GROW LUSCIOUS MASCARA -
I personally adore products that has that lash enhancing or growing factors therefore i was in a mad rush to make this purchase when i noticed that they do a waterproof formulation. I have to have waterproof mascara because of my short and fine eyelashes as normal formulation doesn't hold the curl as nicely. This mascara claims to volumise and lengthen whilst nourishing the lashes in order to make them grow.
I found that the brush is quite large making it difficult to apply onto my lashes (Maybe girlies out there with longer lashes might find it easier) As you can guess, it was a total nightmare when it came to my bottom lashes. After one coat, my lashes did start to droop a little bit which was quite disappointing really as at this point i still haven't achieve the pretty lashes i had hoped for. Second coat just made it worse like how i expected because my lashes was now heading south - as you can see by the image above. My perky lashes i wished for was non exsistent and i was majorly dissapointed. Not only was the formulation quite heavy and the brush too large for easy application, it was quite clumpy and didn't look that nice overall.
I have only used this once and i haven't used it since because i was so horrified that i returned straight away to my trusty Lancome hypnose wp mascara (my holy grail). I cannot say much about it's lash lengthening effects because i haven't used it long enough to experience that. I think this mascara is more suitable for girls with longer and stronger eyelashes and I do not recommend it to girls with short stubby lashes like mine~ it is a total nightmare to use. However, these are just my opinion on this mascara therefore what doesn't work for me might work for you although this mascara only scored a 2.9/5.0 on makeupalley. This was a waste of my £10, dissapointing product from Revlon my beloved drugstore makeup brand.
What is your favourite drugstore mascara?
