VALENTINES DAY MAKEUP

A day time natural makeup look with a pop of colour to represent the essence of valentines. I think this is a great option for a first date as it is clean and natural keeping the skin looking fresh looking and sweet.

FACE

I used a silicone based primer [Maybelline baby skin instant pore eraser] to cover my pores and creating a perfect canvas for my foundation to go on. For foundation, I went for the Rimmel lasting finish as it makes my skin look flawless and adds a hint of randiance without compromising the longevity of it. To add some more definition to the skin, I used a cream based product [NARS multiple in Altai] to contour my face along with [The body Shop honey bronzer] to set the contour colour. To blend out and set all the products, I used [MAC mineralise finish in natural] to finish off.

EYES

I do not actually own any pink or purple eyeshadows in my collection, therefore I ended up using an Urban decay palette which had a pink and purple shade. I used my Shu Uemura Eyelash curlers to curl my lashes and applied my [Lancome hypnose doll eyes waterproof mascara]

LIPS

Back to using my forgotten much loved [Revlon lip butter in Sweet tart] as it is very moisturising and the pink shade is very sweet looking and perfect for valentines day.

What makeup look did you wear for valentines day?

I apologise for the poor quality of the picture of my face shot. I actually forgotten my camera for the day so I had to resort to using my iPhone 5 but hope you guys can see the look that I was going for. I opted for a subtle smokey eye using my Narsissist palette which I thought was perfect for that muted eye look that looks both classy and wedding guest appropriate. The shadows were also very easy to blend and complimented my skintone nicely. The contoured look worked wonders for the professionl photos taken as it emphasised on my facial features making it more multi-dimentional. I didn't bother with lashes and it was quite hot and humid and I didn't want to worry about my lashes lifting or coming off. I did choose to use a convenient lipstain which was great as there were alot of drinking and eatting involved so matte lips were a definite no no. My make-up lasted throughout the day and night thanks to my rimmel stay matte powder and I really had a great time.

What kind of look do you usually go for when being a wedding guest?

MAC - CRANBERRY EYESHADOW

The colder months are here therefore the Autumn/Winter shades are out again. The nice forest greens and the plummy purples are everywhere in shops when you are out shopping. MAC cranberry eyeshadow has been on my wishlist ever since seeing eye make-up looks posted on blogs recently but i have never got round to actually buying it. I went shopping the other day at Bicester village outlet where i usually go crazy over their Cosmetics Company because they sell products from MAC, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder and Clinique etc etc. I settled only for an eyebrow pencil because i needed one (Review coming soon) but i saw a box full of pan eyeshadows near the cashier so i went through them all and i was thrilled to find it in the Shade Cranberry, so i grabbed it for £7 which I thought was amazing!

The shadow is a lovely deep rich berry colour which seems quite intimidating to wear at first but when i used it on my eyes, i was surprised to find out that it is really easy to work with and blends out like a dream. Depending on how you want the look, this eyeshadow alone applied lightly can give you a lovely wash of colour on the lids without looking too harsh, but if you prefer a more intense look, this is really buildable and can contribute to a nice autumn smokey eye look. I prefer to use this shade as an everyday shade on my lids to add that extra bit of colour on my face and diverge from the usual browns and blacks that i usually go for. I recommend this shade for the autumn shades and i do believe that adding a nice plum shade eye base will intensify the look too!
