There has been alot of hype amongst the blogging community on the Fenty beauty range. I have been quite late on the bandwagon but I managed to get my hands on a few of their products to test out. The pricing of the products are quite reasonable in my opinion compared with some of the other well known brands in stores. The packaging is beautiful and definitley something I would love on my vanity. These are my first impressions on these few products
Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation
I was recommended this foundation by a friend of mine as she was aware that I loved my matte finish foundations. The frosted glass packaging made it a love at first sight no brainer for me to pick it up from the store and for £26 I needed to give it a go. First impressions of this foundation was very good. Applying it with my trusty beauty blender gave me a flawless matte finish with amazing coverage. Although the application was lovely and left my skin looking like perfection, the foundation didn't wear very nicely on my skin throughout the day. I work very long hour shifts without being able to touch up regularly therefore when I looked in the mirror I was dissapointed to see the product starting to break up and gather in my pores. I really wanted to love this foundation as I have heard amazing reviews on it, but it just wasn't for me. I tried it with many primers and setting sprays but I can't get it to last nicely throughout the day like my other beloved foundations (Estee Lauder Double wear and MUFE HD foundation).
Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer
Totally Thrilled by the packaging once again. Primers are supposed to increase the longevity of the foundation and also allow a smooth application for foundations. However, I do feel that this primer didn't really deliver. I didn't feel that it kept my make up looking flawless the whole day compared to my other primers I own and it really didn't make a difference in my make-up application. Spending £24 on a primer which I could easily omit from my make-up routine seems like such a waste of money but I guess it does look great on my vanity. I have combination-oily skin so I thought this would be perfect for me, but I guess I was wrong and it would work better on other skin-types maybe.
Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick - Saw-C
Wow, this is definitley and hit for me. Move over Charlotte tilbury, MAC and Chanel lipsticks, I have a new love for these fenty beauty lipsticks. I have the very dry and chapped lips which relies on lipbalm constantly therefore Matte lipsticks and I do not get along. I was suprised by how pigmented this lipstick is and the formula is so buttery. The slender design makes application very easy although a lipliner is highly recommended due to the solid colour. This orangey colour (Sorry, the picture doesn't show the shade properly but you can see how smooth it made my lips.) brightens up my complexion and I would say that the colour is buildable depending on the intensity. Please google this shade for some decent swatches as my pictures doesn't do it justice. I really need to go back to Harvey Nichols to purchase more of these matte lipsticks and maybe I need to try from their other ranges too!
Overall, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna range has been exciting to try out but unfortunatley I am not the greatest fan of their face products despite having high hopes for them. However, I have found a winner with their matte lipsticks and I would definitley be a returning customer.
Have you tried any products from Fenty beauty?
