Revlon: 044 Blue Lagoon Nail Polish

Spring is coming and i think this colour is perfect from the transition from the cold to the warmer spring. This Sky blue colour compliments my skin-tone very well making my skin seem brighter and whiter.

(Two coats of polish)

Theres other colours out in the market which are similar to this colour, but i chose this one due to the tiny tiny shimmery particles which you can see only under certain lights. However, this is very difficult to apply. The consistency was very watery and the brush was very small so that application wasn't as smooth and streaked like crazy.

I have had this polish on for around a week and even without a top coat, i haven't noticed any chipping at all~ Amazing quality in that sense! BUT, bubbles do form on the surface after a day or two which makes it look rough and bumpy (as you can see in the photo above).....and not an appealing look at all. I dont think this would be a nail polish i would use often as it's a hassle to apply and theres many substitute colours available from different brands which may have a better consistency such as barryM.

~ GlossyBox December 2011 ~

This is my first purchase from glossybox and this month its in a special red box exclusively for the festive christmas period~ It is £10 subscription fee for the box filled with 5 beauty samples which includes one or more full sized products + £2.95 for shipping.

I loved the box that it came in and the packaging and ribbon made it look so classy and elegant :)

According to my beauty profile that i filled in, these were the products that were sent to me:

1. Rituals foaming shower gel: Hammam Delight FULL SIZE 200ml
It has a really special gel to foam technology which is very convenient and nice to use in the shower. It also smells very refreshing and leaves the skin very soft and moisturised
RRP: £6.50

2. Blink + Go eyeshadow and blush palette (Style 5):
Very compact packaging makes it perfect for people constantly travelling and it's dual layers makes it very versatile. It also has a nice large mirror which is always super conveniant to put inside your handbag! The colours are very pigmented, yet it can be quite powdery and needs a few layers to build up colour intensity. The blush colour is very nice and wearable which compliments most skintones, yet it can be quite chalky. A dual end sponge tip and brush applicator is provided but the quality is poor therefore i do no recommend using it since it may be a bit scratchy on your eyelids and cheeks.
RRP: £12.95

3. Deborah Lippmann - Razzle Dazzle mini nail varnish with 'stripper to go varnish remover':
Not really the colour that i would go for personally, but it seems like a very fun festive colour to put on and the glitter is relatively large so removing it may be a little more difficult, but i am not sure~ i will test it out in the future and review soon
RRP: £16.00

4. Cargo Classic lipgloss (Mini):
A light neutral shimmery beige colour. I really liked the consistency of it as it gave a nice glossy effect yet, it wasn't very sticky and it lasted for quite a long time. Only downside to this is that it made my lips peel a bit and dried out.
RRP: £10.00

5. Nip + Fab: Spot Fix:
This is meant to work as a mattifying gel which helps to control shine by absorbing excess oil which is perfect for my oily skin. However, i haven't really noticed a dramatic difference in the reduction of spots even with the product containing salicylic acid.
RRP: £15.95

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for the next glossy box review!

~OPI: Princesses Rule!~

*OPI Nail Lacquer Princesses Rule*
(part of the Princess Charming Collection)
A soft shimmery pink which give an elegant yet girly touch to you nails* - £10.50
15ml/0.5Oz

(Two coats applied)

When i saw this in the shop, i was drawn to it instantly as it was just the perfect shimmery pink that i was looking for. The colour wasn't too bright and tacky~ but it looks very sophisticated and has a hint of silver under certain lights. It applied very smoothly and the glitter particles were not large rock hard grainy texture like some other polishes! It also has a nice pearly effect which adds to the amazingness of this nail polish :)
This is definitely my favourite O.P.I nail colour so far as it is light and sheer so that it doesn't stain my nails~ Also, it is appropriate for many occasions including family dinners and also in the work area. Simple yet sophisticated colour :)
The only downside to this nail polish is that it has a very sheer application and may require 2 or more coats to reach the desired intensity of the colour! But it's worth the extra time and effort to get this colour.
