~ February GlossyBox ~

It is that time of month again when the postman knocks on my door and delivers my Glossybox! This time, it has returned back to it's standard themed box which is a shame since i was really excited about the previous 2 i received. Nonetheless, i went ahead an opened it really wanting to find out whats inside. Upon opening it, i was actually a bit disappointed with the products i got :( Boo, but i eventually read the information card to understand the products a little bit more. I somehow thought that the products kinda didn't really suit what i needed.
E.g the 'DuWop venom lipgloss', i already have quite full lips; therefore i don't really need the lip plumping effect. I'm also not too fond of the colour of the press on nails as i think this colour really ageing and it is not necessarily the best for the start of spring is it. Regardless of the colour, my nails are naturally curved and domed shape therefore the nails would not adhere properly ( i may need to give these away to someone who can make use of them ).
The shower gel smells good and so does the styling treatment oil~ i would try these when i have time and update with a review :)

Products my glossybox contained were:
1. DUWOP venom gloss: Full size £16/10.4ml
Combining subtle tinted lipgloss with DuWop's lip Venom to create venom gloss.

2. IMPRESS press on manicure: Full size £17.40
It is the revolutionary way to apply polish! simply peel off and press on.

3. AWAPUHI Wild ginger treatment oil By Paul Mitchell: Full size £25.95/100ml
Smooth and seal parched hair with natural oils and the hydrating Awapuhi extract. Absorbs easily imparting a soft, silky texture and rich shine effect.

4. BM Beauty Oure mineral eyeshadow: Full size £7/2g
Award winning pure mineral eyeshadow. Cruelty free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans

5. COMO shambala Invigorating shower gel: Full size £20/300ml
A revitalising blend of essential oils that puts you in a perfectly uplifted mood

What did you get in this months Glossybox? and are what did you think about the products? x

Thanks for reading and i hope you have a great day <3

Just a classic french Manni :)

{Left - Right}
  • Rimmel nail tip whitener
  • O.P.I - Privacy Please
  • O.P.I - Top Coat
Everybody loves the simple and classic look of the french manicure- never outdated and a timeless nail design. I used the O.P.I top coat to finish it off to give it extra shine and more chip resistant! But its optional :) since the neutral peach colour gives an acceptable finish on its own anyway. This is the first time using the Rimmel nail tip whitener which has a thinner brush so that it made application easier since i normally do my tips free hand normally. The consistency was really nice, wasn't too thick or gloopy. It has been a few days since i've painted them and no signs of chipping so that is great stuff :)
(NOTE: i do not like bourjois white manicure polish as it cracks on the nails after a few days for some reason making it look horrible!)

Thank you for reading and have a great day <3

~ 'A pop of spring' nails ~

(All nail colours were applied with 2 coats of nail polish with a base coat and a top coat)

I couldn't really decide on what colour to paint my nails so i went for a mix of pastel colours which is perfect for springtime since the sun is starting to shine and fresh colours are needed! They look fun and great for matching with the colourful trend this season. Most of the nail polishes i used are readily available in the high street / drugstores (except for my O.P.I top coat, which i'm pretty sure that you can use an alternative brand)  therefore i didn't need to spend a fortune on expensive polishes to achieve this simple nail look.

{Left-Right}
- Rimmel London: 045 Misty Jade
- Missguided: Missbehave
- BarryM: 306 Blueberry I/C
- BarryM: 307 Lemon Ice Cream
- BarryM: 308 Berry I/C

*Base Coat - Rimmel: nail rescue hardening treatment
*Top Coat - O.P.I top coat

Thanks for reading, and i hope you have a great day :)

~ My love for my Sigma Brush set!!~

Last month, i decided to treat myself a little and get this brush set that i have always been wanting but never got round to actually buying it. Well, there was a january offer which allowed me to have a 10% off the order so i caved in and decided to go for it. I chose this Mr Bunny Vegan essentials brush kit because it looked more sophisticated as opposed to the Mrs bunny set which was pink and blue i believe. In total including the shipping, i spent around £75 which is not bad considering there are 12 brushes in the set and this is much more value for your money compared with other brushes like M.A.C. The parcel came around 2-3 weeks after my order (NOTE: i got charged £23 for customs) and it was in a sturdy cardboard box so the contents were not damaged at all which was nice. I opened it and i just loved the black vintage pattern on the side and it was pretty heavy which is always a good thing. I opened the box and inside was the most gorgeous great quality black leather case with two buttons on either side which is the signature design for sigma. All the brushes were individually wrapped in plastic and some of the larger ones had a brush guard on them to protect the bristles.

When i felt the brushes, i just literally FELL IN LOVE! The bristles were so so soft indeed and felt much nicer than the M.A.C brushes. I just wished that i discovered this brush set earlier so that i didn't have to spend so much on my M.A.C ones which costs a total fortune. It has been around a week that i have had these now and there is literally minimal to no shedding and they are wonderful to use with all the brushes you will need for you make-up in one place. The brush case is a bonus; since i travel to and from uni quite abit so the brushes are kept safe from damage :) I would definitely recommend buying sigma brushes to everyone! i know at first it seems alot of money but it is SO worth it for the quality you get.

The brushes are all versatile and multi-functional so they can practically be used for another functions rather than what is stated.
Brushes included are:

- Large powder F30
- Large angled Contour F40
- Duo Fibre F50
- Foundation F60
- Concealer F70
- Tapered Blending E40
- Large Shader - E60
- Medium Angled Shading E70
- Eye Shading E55
- Small Angle E65
- Pencil E30
- Eyeliner E03

Thank you for reading and i hope you have a nice day~

~ ' Rimmel: Sky High' Nails ~ Review

Rimmel 60 seconds fast drying nail polish in '825 Sky High' is perfect to kick start your spring! I recently purchased this colour from superdrug since i realised i dont have many turquoise colours and i thought that it would be nice to try out something different rather than my pinks and neutrals. The colour is a cool turquoise colour which reminds me of the ocean and it is just an amazing colour to wear and it complements my skin-tone very well, making it appear whiter! (which is always a good thing since its flattering)
The brush is a little bit thicker than usual but its claim to be a "1 second express application" kinda failed, since the width didn't stretch to the whole of my nail and 3 strokes were still needed to complete the application. Overall, the fatter and flatter brush did provide more control.

The consistency of the nail polish was quite thick, but a single layer was really sheer and seemed to be manageable and buildable. The formula was very quick drying too which is great! Definitely need to check out more rimmel nail polishes since they are good quality for the price. Pictures were taken around a week after application without a top coat, therefore it can be seen clearly that it isn't prone to chipping much and very durable :)

Thanks for reading and i hope you have a nice day~ <3

~ GlossyBox January 2012: Valentines edition ~

So it's that time for my Glossybox review again :) This is my second box now and i just love how its kinda like unwrapping ur birthday present every time!! Once i removed the outer packaging, i noticed that the box was in a hot pink colour with a matte texture as opposed to the glossy december box~

I just love the ribbon and the small heart sticker!! ohhh how i do fall so much for packaging =.= But it is nice they they paid attention to detail hehe :)
Sooooo, my opinions on the packaging aside, lets look at some of the products they sent me!

1. EYEKO: Skinny Eyeliner in 'Plum' - Full Size £9.50 per pencil
My first thoughts on this was 'woahh, whats with the silver bit on the end?' apparently its a handle, so that you can get a precise definition and allows you to use the product until you reach the very end since with most eyeliners, it gets to a point where u cannot sharpen it anymore~ I just think its not that good of an idea, since it's just not very convenient for travelling and i don't even think that it will fit in make-up bags! The product itself was very creamy and the pigmentation was average. But within an hour or so, it started smudging like crazy and i ended up having panda eyes (the smudging may be due to my oily complexion) Very disappointed in this eyeliner and its innovative design with the handle is just quite an awful concept in my opinion.

2. WELEDA: One Step Cleanser & Toner - Full Size £9.95/100ml
"This soothing and cooling combination of Iris Root extract and Witch Hazel helps the skin to regulate its optimal balance between moisture and oil, as well as acting as a gentle astringent on the skin" When i first opened the bottle cap to this~ the smell was really strong! kind of reminds me of the 'origins' product smells since it's all based on natural plant extracts. I was a bit wary of using this product since my skin is really sensitive and it smelt really strong..but when i finally used it~ it gave me a refreshing and clean sensation with a bit of tingling sensation which i believe is the effect of the toner. This product is average in my opinion no matter how natural it is since it felt too drying for my skin even after rinsing with water. i had to compensate by using extra moisturiser where its normally not needed due to my oily complexion.

3. ORLY: Nail Lacquer in 'Ruby' - Full Size £6.95/18ml
I have seen this nail polish brand in boots and have been drawn to them by their vast range of colours; so i'm delighted to receive this in my glossybox this month. Unfortuneatley, im not too interested in the colour as its something that i never tend to wear. Nevertheless, i decided to check out its consistency out and it is highly pigmented and really smooth to apply.
Since its nearly valentines day, i may do a nail design using this colour so I will try it out properly in due course.

4. MURAD Hybrids Skin Perfecting Primer - 'Dewy finish' - Full Size £29.00/30ml
"Oil-free, pore minimising formula creates the perfect canvas by concealing flaws, evening skin tone and can be used under or in place of foundation. One universal shade creates the perfect skin tone match."
When i saw primer, i was expecting it to be clear and transparent to act as a base...but when i pumped the first pump out, i was so suprised. It was like foundation and it was so dark! Regardless, it was a light consistency and absorbed into my skin very quickly. Not too sure about the 'dewy' finish, as i already have really oily skin~ I didn't experience any oil control at all....and surprise surprise, within a few hours my face was already shiny! definitely going to stick with my matte primers!

5. FAB: Gentle Body Wash - Full Size £13.00/226.8g
"A moisturizing, irritant-free everyday cleanser ideal for even the most sensitive skin" on the bottle it states "relieves dry skin" Dry skinnnn? i dont have that! i have to complete opposite, so i don't know whether i should be using this or not regardless of how gentle it states to be. The product has a mild scent and it lathers up pretty well (i used it on my legs just incase) it left my skin feeling soft and smooth. Im not too fond of the packaging as i prefer something a bit more fancy and appealing to look at. Personally i wouldn't use this product in my beauty regime due to its moisturising aspects.

P.s ~ They included a little sweet which is really cute.

Overall, the products received in this months Glossybox was average and not the most impressive as some of the products were not really suited or compatible with my skin. But im looking forward to next months box!

Thank you for reading and il update with another post soon! <3
